Questions and Answers

Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Don Anderson.  I'm the seventh of eight children born to Herman ANDERSON and Ada DURHAM.  I was born in 1950 in Centerville, TN.    My interest in genealogy began in the late 1970's.  I worked on it off and on since then.   I'm married with two adult sons.  My oldest son is married and has a young daughter (age 6 as of Jan 2005).  I live in Chattanooga, TN.

What surnames are you working on?

In the past I've taken a rather scattered approach, attempting to gather information on many of my family lines.   I'm currently regrouping and trying to focus primarily on my ANDERSON line.  That includes not only ANDERSON but also FIELDER, WALKER,  ROSSON, And Berry.    These lines are all associated with my paternal grandfather James Austin Anderson (1877-1949.)   Most of the work on these lines centers on Hickman County Tennessee but also includes other Middle Tennessee counties and South Carolina.

The other lines I'm interested in include:

bulletSPRADLING, southerland, wilkins, and brown.  These lines are all associated with my paternal grandmother, Mary SPRADLING ANDERSON (1884-1972).
bulletDURHAM, TAYLOR, OAKLEY, SCHNEIDT, PETERS, AND O'BARR. These lines are associated with my maternal grandparents, John Pascal DURHAM ( 1873-1954) and Bessie TAYLOR DURHAM (1885-1953).

At present there is information on this site pertaining to ANDERSON, FIELDER, WALKER, and BERRY.   Other lines will be added later.

Is everything on your site the result of your own work?

No.  Some material has been provided by other researchers.

Have all your facts been checked and are all the relationships "proven"?

Nothing is guaranteed.  One of the reasons I've decided to focus on my ANDERSON ancestors is that I've accumulated lots of bits and pieces and I desperately need to get it into better order and verify the data.  If you believe I've got a fact wrong or if you have an alternate interpretation, I'd hope you'll contact me.
